The basics of pitch is how high or low a note is.

Start by learning to hear whether notes are being played down low or up high.

Try to listen to these examples and learn them in your head.

 

Do things like using hand movements to help pitch sink in -

Hand down near your knee for low sounds.

Hand near your tummy for middle sounds.

Hand above your head for high sounds.

 

Another hint is to use different voices -

The voice of big hippo for low sounds.

Your normal voice for middle sounds.

The voice of a little bird for high sounds.
